Brookline Real Estate
Brookline is part urban, part suburban. There are two Green Line T’s that run through Brookline which make it incredibly easy to commute into Boston and Cambridge. In addition, Brookline has some of Massachusetts’ best public schools which is a big driver for many residents who move to the neighborhood. I typically divide Brookline into the following areas: Audubon Circle, Brookline Village, Chestnut Hill, Coolidge Corner and Washington Square. Chestnut Hill is by far the most ‘suburban’ feeling neighborhood with everything from moderately sized single families to large estates located in gated communities. You will find many single family homes and townhouses in the other neighborhoods as well, alongside several different styles of condo buildings. Both Coolidge Corner and Brookline Village have very lively commercial districts and The Chestnut Hill Mall is a large, upscale shopping and eating destination for many in Brookline and the neighboring towns.
